I’m Jose Garcia, a Strength, Health, and Performance Coach and the Owner of JG Fitness, based at Werk Fitness in La Mesa. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from SDSU, where I spent four years developing a strong foundation in human movement, biomechanics, and exercise science.
In addition to my academic background, I worked for two and a half years in a post-operative physical therapy clinic, where I collaborated closely with licensed physical therapists and gained hands-on experience in injury recovery, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. That experience shaped my coaching approach and allows me to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance-based training.
My coaching philosophy centers on helping people move better, build strength, and achieve sustainable results. I specialize in strength training, fat loss, mobility, and performance programming for adults of all fitness levels - from beginners to athletes. I focus on proper mechanics, smart progression, and long-term habits that support a healthier, stronger lifestyle.
Alongside in-person training, I also offer online coaching, providing customized programs, accountability, and guidance to clients beyond the gym.
